It is our mission to protect the lives, health and jobs of those who work at heights by providing a full range of high-quality fall protection services worldwide. We offer comprehensive training, innovative engineering, expert consulting, specialized testing and state-of-the-art technical equipment.
Our History
In the beginning, Gravitec was involved exclusively with rescue, but we quickly discovered that in our industry, the real issue resided in a lack of the fall protection and prevention that could dramatically reduce the need for rescues. It was clear that proper training would allow workers to utilize equipment and implement systems to protect themselves. We were the first company to teach in-depth fall prevention and protection aimed at reducing fall-related industrial injuries.
Gravitec began in a time when the common fall arrest system was an anchor, rope lanyard and waist belt. We helped lay the foundation of modern fall protection training and engineering. In 21 years, we have become the largest fall protection training company in North America. Our trainers alone log over 50,000 student-training-hours per year.
We work in a very unforgiving industry, and we understand that our professionalism is the foundation of the considerable confidence that our clients have given us to protect their lives and livelihoods. The high quality of our work has attracted customers from around the world. Gravitec’s client list is second to none. We have earned a reputation for delivering turnkey solutions to even the most complex fall protection issues.
We are also extensively involved in the development of national and international standards for fall protection equipment and training. Our staff is involved in various professional organizations. Mr. Wingfield is the current President of the International Society for Fall Protection, the Chairman of the American National Standards Institute Z359 Committee, and past Vice Chair of the Canadian Standards Association Z259 Committee. Gravitec is a corporate member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians, the International Society for Fall Protection, and the National Fire Protection Association.
