Gravitec Experts Say: DBI-Sala's Lad-Saf Flexible Cable Ladder Safety System is the respected grandfather of fixed ladder safety systems and for good reasons. This system has found an excellent balance between performance, ease of use, ease of installation and cost. The Lad-Saf anchors at the top of the ladder and is held true with the length of the ladder using intermittent cable guides. Another bracket at the bottom secures and tensions the cable. A common mistake however is not conducting the appropriate level of engineering to determine the anchor strength at the top of the ladder. The anchor requirement changes with the number of users and amount of cable tension. There are a host of different anchor brackets and connection methods for tanks, monopoles, towers, confined spaces, and process facilities. Every system is engineered to your specific requirements while meeting or exceeding OSHA and ANSI standards. The shock-absorbing top bracket and tension-indicating bottom bracket serve as the anchors for the steel cable, which runs the length of the climbing area. Non-metallic cable guides reduce cable wear, permitting you to ascend or descend unhindered. They also protect both the Lad-Saf system and the climbing structure. The economical, easy-to-use system is available for straight or curved ladders and for connection to wood, concrete or steel structures. The shock-absorbing design uses an elastomeric impact attenuator to substantially reduce the forces imposed on the ladder structure. The swiveling Lad-Saf sleeve, attached by a carabiner to your harness, prevents falls by locking onto the cable. It is easily attached or removed anywhere along the cable and automatically follows as you climb or descend. A sleeve for 3/8" (9 mm) cable is available with or without a carabiner. A sleeve with a carabiner that fits both 5/16" (8 mm) and 5/16" (9 mm) cable is also available. Easily install the Lad-Saf system with standard wrenches. The unique built-in tension tells you precisely when the system is at the proper tension. Built to last from corrosion-resistant materials, the system is galvanized for a maintenance free life.
