Gravitec Experts Say: DBI-SALA's swiveling Lad-Saf sleeve is by far the most popular ladder safety sleeve because it is tried, tested and true. Used in conjunction with the Lad-Saf Flexible Cable Ladder Safety System, it has a lock on fall protection systems for fixed ladders. Unlike many sleeves that require a specific body position to hold the sleeve open, the Lad-Saf sleeve is an automatic system that moves freely up and down a cable. Many manually operated sleeves place constant pressure on the ladder rail and are only opened when outward pressure is put on the device. This is not the case with the Lad-Saf. A new design allows this sleeve to be used on both and 5/16" (8 mm) and 3/8" (9 mm) cable is a great feature when you are climbing wind turbines that were manufactured overseas. Features include automatic operation, an integral swiveling connection and an anti-upside-down latch. Ideally, this sleeve is used on the complete Lad-Saf Flexible Cable Ladder Safety System (also available for purchase in the Ladder Safety section) which includes an energy-absorbing top bracket, a tension-indicating bottom bracket, a corrosion-resistant cable and pass-through intermediate brackets. It attaches by carabiner to your harness and prevents falls by locking onto the cable. It is easily attached or removed anywhere along the cable and automatically follows as you climb or descend.
