Petzl's KOOTENAY is a knot-passing pulley. The large space between the head of the side plate and the sheave allows the passage of joining knots (lifting large loads over great heights or moving along a Tyrolean traverse with two ropes). The large diameter sheave ensures excellent efficiency. Locking pins on the sheave allow the pulley to be used as an anchor.
