Petzl's MINI TRAXION is a compact, lightweight, efficient, self-jamming pulley with three distinct modes of operation (pulley, progress capture pulley, ascender), making it the ideal companion for extended vertical adventures. Use it for hauling light loads, self-belay, ascending rope and self-rescue. The aluminum sheave is mounted on a self-lubricating bearing. A trigger cam with teeth and cleaning slot works even on dirty or icy ropes. The cam can be locked in the open position so the device can be used as a simple pulley. It can also be used to ascend a rope. The MINI TRAXION is designed for use on ropes between 8 mm and 13 mm in diameter.
