"Ease of use" was our mantra when we designed this system. We reduced the necessary technical skills that the rescuer needs to evacuate himself or rescue a stranded coworker. The TR may be used for assisted rescue (lowering the rescue subject alone) as well as suspended rescue (simultaneously lowering the rescue subject and rescuer). Unlike other rescue systems, the TR can lift the rescue subject, preventing the need to cut the subject away. It has built-in fail-safes to prevent free-spooling of the rescue rope if the rescuer loses control. If the user makes a mistake when operating the TR, the lowering operation stops. Other rescue systems typically have more dire consequences when mistakes are made. The TR is packaged in a durable, weatherproof bag and includes detailed pictogram-style directions.
