Gravitec Experts Say: Petzl's ASAP is truly one of a kind. Most rope grabs use a cam type lock. This method is fine, but it means the rope grab is often located below the worker. The ASAP is unique in that it uses a wheel that has enough tension on it to stay in place above the worker during descent, a great feature! The ASAP stops a fall, a slide or an uncontrolled descent and locks even if the device is grabbed during a fall. The ASAP works on vertical or angled rope and moves up and down the rope without manual intervention. It's easy to install and remove at any point on the rope and can be used with a Petzl energy absorbing lanyard. It works with 10.5 mm to 13 mm semi-static ropes and comes with Petzl's OK TRIACT-LOCK automatic-locking carabiner. Users must note that the ASAP will only work and must only be used with, the OK TRIACT-LOCK automatic-locking carabiner and Petzl energy absorbing lanyard.
