Petzl's CROLL is a chest ascender. When used with a chest strap and Petzl's ASCENSION or BASIC, the CROLL makes a simple and efficient system for ascending fixed lines. The angled attachment hole keeps the device properly aligned on the chest. The chrome-plated steel cam with angled teeth and self-cleaning slot securely grips the rope, even in muddy or icy conditions. The angled attachment hole keeps the device properly aligned on the chest for better efficiency in use. The upper hole is used to attach the shoulder strap. A safety catch prevents the cam from opening too far, keeping the rope captured for added safety. The CROLL is for use with ropes between 8 mm and 13 mm in diameter. Its frame is aluminum. The cam is constructed of chrome steel. The trigger is constructed of nylon.
