Miller's Black Rhino Cable Self-Retracting Lifeline is designed with stainless steel wire rope to endure the daily rigors of harsh environments. It is ideal for concrete construction, welding, steel erection, food processing and warehouse applications. A quick-activating, high-strength, stainless steel braking system arrests free falls and provides for a quick, safe rescue. A variety of hooks and connectors are available for use with this product. An integral load indicator indicates when the unit must be removed from service and returned for repair. An extended service life is provided by corrosion-resistant stainless steel and aluminum components. An integral internal shock absorber consistently reduces fall forces to 900 lbs. (4 kN) or less for greater safety. When a small self-retracting lifeline is needed, the Black Rhino warrants a look. Unlike other small self-retracting lifelines, the Black Rhino is made with a stainless steel wire rope rather than webbing to withstand harsh industrial environments. All miniature self-retracting lifelines lock very quickly, but the Black Rhino is one of the few with an integral energy absorber to keep forces below 900 lbs. The anchorage is integral to the unit's housing and the opposite end includes a swiveling connector to prevent line twists as the worker moves. Fast-acting and as smooth as self-retracting lifelines get, the Black Rhino limits free fall distances and arresting forces so effectively that self-rescue is usually possible. With 9' of line and weighing in at 4.3 lbs., it isn't too bad to carry around. A routine inspection by the user is required, but sending it back to the manufacturer for service every year isn't. Also repairable after use, this self-retracting lifeline isn't a throw-away unit. A word of warning: Keep the Black Rhino anchored overhead. This little self-retracting lifeline can't handle the increased free fall distance and forces associated with low anchors.
