Miller's MightyLite Retractable Lifeline is 30 percent lighter and more compact than other models in its class. The lifeline automatically pays out and retracts as you move and can be ordered with galvanized or stainless steel wire rope in a variety of lengths and polyester webbing in 20' and 50' lengths. A centrifugal braking mechanism limits the free-fall distance to less than 24" and keeps impact forces below 900 lbs. (4 kN). All units are equipped with a fall indicator, so in the event of a fall, a flag deploys to indicate the unit has been subjected to fall arresting forces and should be removed from service. A carabiner and tagline are included. Other standard features include a corrosion-resistant housing manufactured from stainless steel and aluminum. The housing also includes a swivel on top to reduce the amount of line twists that can happen as workers move. The manufacturer is so confident in the quality that this self-retracting lifeline does not have to be sent back to the manufacturer for annual recertification. Keep in mind that this doesn't mean it will never break or need repair, and the inspection is up to you.
